Fred Zheng

Fred Zheng is a certified business valuation expert, financial modeler, and capital investment specialist with over two decades of experience in private business valuation, market transfers, exit planning, succession strategy, and M&A advisory.

His primary practice area is the valuation and preparation of private businesses for market transfers. This includes business valuation, exit strategy development, succession planning, transaction structuring, and business brokerage. Fred draws on more than 20 years of combined experience as a business valuer, M&A specialist, business broker, and business owner to deliver commercially grounded and standards-compliant advisory services.

Fred graduated from Monash University with a Master of Accounting and an MBA. He is a Registered Business Valuer (Australia), and a Certified Practising Business Broker. He also holds the Modano Financial Modelling Certification (Grade A+), reflecting advanced technical expertise in financial modelling and transaction analysis. In addition, he is an accreditation member of the American Society of Appraisers and a Certified Valuation Analyst (China), demonstrating cross-jurisdictional valuation expertise.

Currently based in Melbourne, Fred serves as a Business Valuer at Mercury Business Sales and Valuation, where he conducts medium-sized business valuations across diverse industries. He has completed multiple valuation assignments for one of Australia’s largest medical groups, delivering comprehensive reports aligned with international valuation standards.

In parallel, Fred serves as Head of Institutional Business Affairs at the Chartered Valuation Analyst Institute (CVA Institute) in Beijing. As a founding member of its Expert Committee, he has developed valuation standards, authored report frameworks, designed industry-specific valuation software systems, and delivered professional training programs in business valuation, financial modelling, investment analysis, and start-up valuation.
